Cash, cards and currency exchange

- When exchanging currency, obtain US dollars or euros in Japan and exchange them for Seychelles rupees through US dollars or euros.
- Even if there is guidance for payment in the local currency, Seychelles rupees, most restaurants, hotels, and even individual shops accept payments in US dollars or euros. Therefore, you can exchange currency as needed.

Tips

Most payments include a service charge, so tipping is generally not necessary. However, it is smart to tip if you receive special or pleasant service.

Public Safety

Seychelles is known as a relatively safe resort destination.
Be cautious not to become too careless in a vacation mood or engage in activities that could make you a target for crime, such as walking alone at night.

Clothing

Seychelles has a hot and humid climate, so wearing breathable short-sleeve T-shirts and shorts is appropriate. However, be aware that some luxury resorts may have a dress code.
It is convenient to have a light cardigan or similar garment for air conditioning indoors.

Visa availability and arrangements

For short stays such as tourism, a visa is waived. By completing an electronic travel authorization before departure and presenting your passport, return flight ticket, and accommodation booking confirmation to the immigration officer upon arrival in Seychelles, you can obtain permission to stay until your planned departure date. (Up to 3 months with an open ticket)

Required vaccinations

There are no mandatory requirements for travel, but if entering from a yellow fever-infected country, you may be asked to present a yellow fever vaccination certificate (Yellow Card) during immigration checks.
Vaccinations for hepatitis A, hepatitis B, tetanus, and typhoid are recommended.
