Born into a family of tour guides, I have nurtured a passion for travel and tourism since childhood. My career began as an operations manager at a cruise company, followed by a role as an airline ticket manager, and eventually progressed to planning and arranging travel.
Since my first visit to Iceland in 2014, I have been captivated by its charm. Currently, I arrange self-drive trips and also work as a group tour leader for Iceland, the Faroe Islands, and Greenland.
The most important aspect of planning a trip, for me, is achieving a balance between visiting as many places as possible and ensuring there is ample time to relax and enjoy the experience.

I have been fortunate enough to work as a guide in Iceland, where I discovered some of the country’s most stunning and remote places. With approximately a decade of experience in the tourism industry, I specialize in tailor-made trips across Iceland. I offer a diverse range of travel styles, including self-drive tours, road trips with private guides, glacier and volcano tours, aurora viewing, hiking, and day trips.
My passion for travel began in high school; since then, I have lived in Mexico, Australia, and Iceland, and traveled around the world. Experiencing diverse cultures and landscapes further drew me into the allure of travel, ultimately launching my career in the tourism industry.
I truly enjoy supporting many people in making their dream trips to Iceland come true!

What kind of country is the United Kingdom?

The United Kingdom, the homeland of the English language—a language that is increasingly international—is located off the northwest coast of the European continent and comprises Great Britain, the northeastern part of the island of Ireland, and many other islands.

The United Kingdom, formed by the union of four countries—England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland—is renowned as the birthplace of many historical events and has also been a hotbed for the development of industrial and scientific technologies.
It is also famous as the land where masterpieces such as Sherlock Holmes and the works of Shakespeare were born.
The country boasts 21 cultural heritage sites registered on UNESCO’s World Heritage List—from the Paleolithic era through the Middle Ages to modern times—and 5 natural heritage sites, offering an abundance of attractions.

Of course, you can visit iconic sites you may have seen on screen—such as Stonehenge, the Avebury stone circles, Westminster Palace, Westminster Abbey, and St. Margaret’s Church—as well as places tied to your interests, like the Lake District (the setting for Peter Rabbit) or even the world’s first botanical garden.
With Oooh, you can share your interests with a local advisor and create a uniquely tailored travel experience.

Everything you need to know about traveling to the United Kingdom.

Cash, cards and currency exchange
The currency in the United Kingdom is the pound sterling.
Currency exchange is available even in Japan at airports, money changers, and department stores.
While credit cards are widely accepted these days, it's wise to carry a small amount of cash in lower denominations for emergencies.
Tips
In the UK, tipping is generally expected when you receive good service, though some services customarily include only a modest tip.
At sit-down restaurants that do not include a service charge, a tip of about 10–15% is customary.
At hotels, for special services such as porter assistance or room service, a tip of around 1 pound is typical.
For taxis, a tip of around 10–15% is customary—often rounding up the fare slightly—though if you use a ride-hailing app, a tip is not necessary.
Public Safety
While the UK is generally considered relatively safe, it experiences more than seven times the crime rate compared to Japan.
Since theft targeting tourists—such as pickpocketing—is common at attractions and train stations, always keep your belongings (like your bag) in close reach, whether you are at an airport, hotel, exchanging money, shopping, or dining. Additionally, it is advisable to carry valuables such as cash and your passport in a distributed manner (for example, in buttoned inner pockets) rather than keeping them in easily accessible spots like the back pockets of your trousers.
Clothing
The UK tends to be slightly cooler than Japan, with chilly mornings and evenings, so it's advisable to have an extra layer. Summers (from mid-June to August) can sometimes exceed 30°C, though it’s preferable for women to dress more conservatively. In winter (from November to March), it can be a bit colder than in Japan, so be sure to bring a heavy coat and proper winter gear.

In the UK, it is recommended to dress appropriately for the time, place, and occasion. Avoid going shopping in overly casual attire, and since some restaurants require jackets, it might be a good idea to be prepared for a smart casual dress code.
Things You Should Bring
Multi-plug, regular medication, mobile battery, travel insurance, jacket
Visa availability and arrangements
For stays of less than six months, a visa is not required; however, you must apply in advance for an ETA (electronic travel authorisation) at https://www.gov.uk/guidance/apply-for-an-electronic-travel-authorisation-eta. The ETA fee is 10 pounds, the review takes up to three business days in the UK, and once approved, the ETA is valid for two years. Within that period, you can enter the UK without any limit on the number of entries, but if your passport expires or you obtain a new one, you will need to reapply for an ETA.
Please note that even if you obtain an ETA, it does not guarantee entry into the UK; you will still need to pass through immigration upon arrival.
For the latest information, please check the ‘UK Visa Application Centre’ website for Tokyo and Osaka at http://www.vfsglobal.co.uk/japan/japanese/index.html.
Required vaccinations
There are no vaccinations that are mandatory for travel.
