Recommended Highlights of the Trip
It is a nine-day tour of the Snaefellsnes, which is said to be a scale of the breathtaking beauty of the fjords of Iceland in the northern part of Iceland, in the fjords of the west, and the nature of Iceland.
Most of Iceland's population is concentrated around the capital city of Reygavik in the southwest.
Even in the most prosperous area of the north, the population is about 20,000. Even now, untouched nature remains.
In this plan, you'll fly to Akureyri, the most prosperous city in the north, and go around Diamond Circle.
In contrast to the Golden Circle in the southwest, the Diamond Circle is a route where you can enjoy the many natural landscapes that spread out in the north.
Lake Myvatn, formed by a long-ago volcanic eruption, features craters surrounding the lake and natural hot springs. Other attractions include the Dedifoss waterfall, which flows around 365,000 litres of water per second, the horseshoe-shaped gorge of Ausbirgi on the edge of the Vatnajökull National Park, and the town of Húsavík, a whale-watching mecca known as a fisherman's town.
On your way from the north to the northwest, you'll see beautiful fjord landscapes created over the years, colourful fishing towns, delicious waffles, wild seals and, if you're lucky, arctic foxes.
And at Stickisholmuru, you can see the fjord from the sea.
After touring the Snæfells Peninsula, which is said to be a miniature of Iceland, head to the capital city of Reygavik.
In Reygavik, you can see many cultural sights such as landmarks, souvenir shops, and museums.
In Iceland, the things you can see while driving are also fascinating. The scenery is completely different from Japan, such as the scenery of solidified magma, the moon-like scenery with volcanic ash spreading, geothermal power generation pipes, and vast grasslands where sheep and horses run freely in summer. The road is not too crowded once you leave the area around the capital city Reygavik, so you can rest assured.
Moreover, while Icelandic is notoriously challenging, most tourist spots provide information in English and there are plenty of English speakers, so you can travel with confidence.
At Oooh, we can consult and arrange spots and activities that are not included in the model plan according to the customer's request. Please feel free to contact us.
