Bonjour!
Paris, the capital of France, admired by everyone.
Paris, known as the City of Flowers and the City of Art, has many attractions, making it hard to decide where to go.
Of course, there's the Louvre Museum and the Eiffel Tower, but I especially recommend Sainte-Chapelle, which boasts unparalleled beauty in Paris.
A magnificent Gothic-style church
Sainte-Chapelle is located on Île de la Cité, the same island in the Seine River where the Notre-Dame Cathedral, currently under restoration, is situated.
It is a Gothic-style church built by the order of the former French King Louis IX, intended as a place to preserve holy relics.
The greatest attraction of this church is its stained glass.
The oldest stained glass in France shines brilliantly within the church, earning it the nickname 'Holy Jewel Box,' captivating people from all over the world.
Golden Lower Chapel
Upon entering the church, it was a room where golden pillars and arches shone.
Did I mistakenly enter a different church? I panicked for a moment, but this was undoubtedly the church I was looking for.
Sainte-Chapelle is a two-story building, with the first floor being the lower chapel made for attendants.
In the center, there is a statue of Louis IX, who commissioned the construction.
This is the entrance and exit for tourists, and there is also a souvenir corner.
Nevertheless, this space still retains delicate sculptures and items from that time, and above all, the contrast of gold and blue is beautiful, creating a refreshing space.
Shining Upper Chapel
From the lower chapel, climb the narrow and steep spiral staircase typical of a church tower to the upper chapel, which was the prayer space for the king and his family.
Finally, face to face with the stained glass.
What a fantastical sight it is.
The only word that comes to mind is beautiful.
The 360° stained glass surrounds me.
The stained glass, made by combining pieces of red, blue, green, yellow, and purple glass, gently illuminates the interior of the church.
Additionally, as the sun appears and disappears, the color and intensity of the light change, and the atmosphere inside the church shifts moment by moment.
The scene I saw back then
Entering a church often brings a sense of cleansing, but in this church, for some reason, I felt excitement and anticipation.
It felt like stepping into a world of a game.
The fantastical light, the sacred place at the forefront, the golden pedestal sitting majestically.
Like the starting point of a new adventure, or the place you return to after a long journey defeating the demon king.
While there is a sense of reassurance, it also invigorates you.
Memories from childhood resurfaced, and I couldn't help but smile nostalgically.
One of the most beautiful churches in the world, located in the heart of Paris.
please Emotional, worthy of the name of the sacred jewelry box Please try to be enveloped in light.
There is a mysterious sense of wonder that only those who visit can understand.
