Sidi Bou Said, the most beautiful town in Tunisia.
Sidi Bou Said, once chosen as the second most beautiful scenery along the Mediterranean coast, is lined with blue and white Arab-Andalusian style buildings that captivate tourists from around the world.
The only five-star hotel in Sidi Bou Said is La Villa Bleue.
Located right next to the Mediterranean, it is known for its luxurious atmosphere and opulent services.
In this article, we will introduce in detail the experience of staying at this charming hotel!
Traditional Sidi Bou Said architecture
The entrance to La Villa Bleue is a door so blended into the surrounding scenery that you might pass by without a guide.
Passing through the door adorned with patterns drawn with rivets, a small marble fountain greeted us.
The history of La Villa Bleue, built by an entrepreneur and collector, is not particularly old.
While aiming to be an attractive and comfortable hotel, it was built sustainably with the intention of preserving tradition for future generations.
Most of the materials used, such as marble, columns, and fireplaces, are said to be recycled from old houses and unused palaces.
It was a space where cleanliness and exoticism coexisted, providing a comfortable atmosphere.
Overlooking the Mediterranean Sea
Beyond the entrance, you enter a courtyard with a terrace, pool, and ocean-view restaurant.
In contrast to the interior, the courtyard offered the quintessential blue and white of Sidi Bou Said, along with the beautiful Mediterranean scenery.
The hotel is built along a slope, with rooms scattered around the courtyard.
In addition to the beautiful location, the service provided by the staff is excellent.
As expected of a five-star hotel.
We were warmly welcomed upon arrival, and even while relaxing on the terrace, we received attentive service.
Suite Prestige
The place I stayedLa Villa BleueOne of the rooms closest to the sea is the Suite Prestige.
It is a room located just across the road from the ocean-view restaurant, overlooking a Mediterranean view spot.
There was a room with a sofa and double bed, a room with a king bed, and a bathroom, providing ample space for a comfortable stay even for families.
Unlike its glamorous exterior, the simple yet sophisticated interior calms the mind, allowing for a restful stay.
The bathroom is also very well-maintained, featuring a spacious bathtub.
While some luxury hotels have cramped and inconvenient bathrooms, here there is ample space and height, with no sense of confinement.
The shower's water pressure and temperature were perfect, and above all, it was delightful to soak in a bathtub in a foreign land.
I was captivated by the beautiful tile patterns and ended up taking a long bath.
Lunch and dinner are served at the ocean-view restaurant, but breakfast can be enjoyed anywhere, such as on the terrace, in the lounge, or in your room.
Taking advantage of the opportunity, I enjoyed breakfast at the most photogenic spot in the hotel.
It was a simple breakfast, but with just the right level of satisfaction, I was able to start the day feeling refreshed.
Early morning is the best time to walk around the city
The greatest charm of Sidi Bou Said is its beautiful blue and white scenery.
However, because it is a global tourist destination and is conveniently located near the capital Tunis, it is bustling with many people, both tourists and locals, throughout the day.
There are many people of middle and high school age, and for the local youth, it might be a place similar to Harajuku.
Even though I try to take a good picture, unfortunately, people end up getting in the shot.
Therefore, when visiting Sidi Bou Said, be sure to1We recommend staying overnight and taking a walk early in the morning.
La Villa Bleue is a famous photo spot in Sidi Bou Said. A prime location just a 1-minute walk to the breathtaking Café des Délices and one of the world's oldest cafes, Café des Nattes.
By making a little effort to wake up early and go for a walk, you can thoroughly enjoy the beautiful scenery in a quiet and calm atmosphere with fewer people around.
It's a privilege for guests!
If the weather is good, you can also enjoy the sunrise over the Mediterranean Sea right in front of you.
La Villa Bleue is the perfect accommodation to fully enjoy the charm of Sidi Bou Said.
With beautiful ocean views and architecture, a relaxing space, and attentive service, it was a fulfilling hotel stay that left me completely satisfied both physically and mentally.
