Trip Highlights
Once a year on the day of the winter solstice, Inti Raymi, one of the largest festivals in South America, is held in Cusco, the capital of the Inca Empire, and Machu Picchu, a World Heritage Site that you should visit at least once in your lifetime.
On the first day, we went sightseeing in the city of Cusco, which is also registered as a World Heritage Site.
Starting at Plaza de Armas, you'll explore the city of Cusco with highlights such as the Cathedral, the Twelve Cornered Stones, Santa Clara Avenue, and the San Pedro Market.
On the second day, in addition to the popular royal route, we visited the "Inca Bridge", which is said to have helped prevent the invasion of enemies.
You can also take a souvenir photo with the llama.
On the third day, it was time to visit the Inti Raymi Festival. You can fully enjoy the highlights of this plan.
The Inti Raymi Festival, also known as the "Festival of the Sun," is a festival to thank the supreme god, the god of the sun and the earth, for the harvest of the past year and to wish for a good harvest in the new year. The Inca Emperor reigns at the center of the ceremony, the sun virgins surround them, and a large number of soldiers are dressed in colorful costumes and dance and sing in praise of the sun god.
