Bolivia, a South American country with many cities located at altitudes above 3,000 meters.
Located on the opposite side of the Earth from Japan, Bolivia offers breathtaking scenery and ancient culture that captivate many people.
In this plan, you will first visit the Tiwanaku Ruins, a World Heritage site known as a precursor to the Inca civilization. Explore the Gate of the Sun, the underground temple, and the Ponce monolith to fully experience the mysterious ancient civilization.
At Lake Titicaca, said to be 12 times the size of Lake Biwa, you will visit the man-made floating islands of Uros and Taquile Island, where you can enjoy the Quechua weaving culture and beautiful scenery.
Then, head to the Uyuni Salt Flats, renowned as the number one must-see breathtaking view before you die. If weather conditions are right, you can witness the surreal landscape where the deep blue sky is reflected on the mirror-like lake.
During the Uyuni tour, visit the small village of Colchani by the salt flats, the photogenic spot 'Train Cemetery' with abandoned old trains, the 'Salt Mining Site,' and, depending on the season, Incahuasi Island with its forest of cacti.
In addition to the daytime Uyuni Salt Flats, you can also enjoy stargazing under a sky full of stars, as well as watching the sunset and sunrise.
In Bolivia's capital, La Paz, you can freely explore the cityscape. The nearby 'Valley of the Moon' is also a must-see.
