Detailed itinerary

• Day 1

  

  Arrived in San José, Costa Rica

  Departing from Japan on the same day, you will arrive at Juan Santa Maria International Airport in San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica, via a city in North America.
  From Japan, it is a journey of at least 19 hours with a transfer. After arriving at the airport, a local Japanese guide (Kawakubo) will be waiting at the exit gate.
  We will take you to the hotel located downtown, approximately 40 minutes by car from the airport.
  First, please take your time to relax and recover from the fatigue of the journey.
  San Jose: We will stay at the Radisson Europa or an equivalent class hotel.

• Day 2

  

  To the jungle of the Caribbean Sea, Tortuguero

  Breakfast at the hotel.
  We are heading to the jungle of the Caribbean, Tortuguero, by shared vehicle.
  After arrival, we will observe nature in Tortuguero.
  Please enjoy the guided tour of the national park.
  The jungles of the Caribbean Sea, a mystical green world with towering giant trees reaching skyward.
  You can closely observe tropical animals such as several types of monkeys, colorful birds, the most beautiful lizard in the world, and the green basilisk.
  After lunch, we will visit Tortuguero Village.
  You can observe the lives of people who have moved to the Caribbean.
  You can also observe the nesting of green sea turtles from July to October. (Optional)
  Please enjoy a buffet-style Costa Rican Caribbean cuisine while facing the Caribbean Sea.
  You can enjoy a night walk. (Optional)
  Stay at Mawamba Lodge.

• Day 3

  

  Enjoy Tortuguero National Park

  Breakfast at the hotel.
  Early Morning Tortuguero Jungle Boat Tour (Optional)
  An additional national park entrance fee of approximately $15 per person is required.
  We will explore frogs, butterflies, and other wildlife and wild birds at Mawanba Park.
  Please enjoy the boat tour of Tortuguero National Park.
  I will stay at Mawamba Lodge.

• Day 4

  

  To the hidden gem of Sarapiqui

  Breakfast at the hotel.
  We will move to Guápiles. (2 hours by land, 1 hour by boat)
  After lunch, we will travel by land for another hour to Sarapiqui Hotel.
  Sarapiquí is a hidden gem in Costa Rica.
  You can easily observe toucans with large beaks, colorful Central American birds, and three types of vividly colored frogs.
  Since the lodge is located within a nature reserve, you can encounter various animals just by walking around inside the lodge.
  If you're lucky, you might even encounter large animals like armadillos.
  Night Tour: The night in Sarapiquí is truly a treasure trove of animals.
  You can see small mammals that are difficult to observe during the day, as well as beautiful reptiles such as frogs.
  Please enjoy the jungle at night, which has a different face from the daytime.
  I will stay at Selva Verde Lodge.

• Day 5

  

  To the world's No.1 spa, Tabacon

  Breakfast at the hotel.
  Nature observation tour in the forest of La Selva, which is a tropical research facility (OET).
  After that, we will move from Sarapiquí to Arenal. (2 hours by car)
  Walking through the protected forests of OET, even those who aren't bird enthusiasts will become bird lovers, as the vividly colored birds flutter like jewels.
  It will remind you of the joy of observing nature.
  After nature observation, please enjoy the Tabacon Hot Springs.
  One of the world's leading 5-star spa resorts.
  A hot spring river created by the Arenal Volcano, with a water volume and temperature that fully satisfies even the Japanese who love hot springs.
  This is the only place in the world where you can enter a hot spring among tropical plants.
  After definitely soothing the fatigue of the journey and enjoying a delicious dinner, we head to the hotel.
  I will stay at Arenal Observatory Lodge.

• Day 6

  

  To the Miracle Forest: Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve

  Breakfast at the hotel.
  In the morning, we will do nature observation at the hotel.
  The area around the lodge is surrounded by forest, and the encounter rate with animals is very high.
  A particularly recommended point is the feeding station in front of the restaurant, where you can encounter colorful birds from around 6 a.m.
  I will move from Arenal to Monteverde.
  In the unique ecosystem known as the tropical cloud forest, numerous plants cling to the giant trees, and upon closer inspection, orchids just a few centimeters in size add accents to the green world.
  The main attraction is the world's most beautiful butterfly, the Morpho butterfly. Its metallic blue wings captivate all travelers.
  For dinner, a local naturalist guide will serve homemade Costa Rican cuisine at their home for the guests.
  I will stay at the Trap Family Lodge.
  

• Day 7

  

  Sky Walk and Canopy in Monteverde

  Breakfast at the hotel
  In the morning, we will guide you to Monteverde's secret forest.
  The encounter rate with the Quetzal has been an incredible 100% so far.
  We will search for the Quetzal with a secret uncle trusted by bird enthusiasts from around the world.
  After lunch, enjoy the Sky Walk from 1 PM and the Canopy from 2:30 PM.
  Then, leisurely head to San Jose (a 4-hour drive).
  We will guide you to our recommended restaurant for dinner.
  I will stay at Radisson Europa.

• Day 8

  

  Departure for Japan

  Breakfast at the hotel.
  Free time until departure. (In the case of an afternoon flight, we will guide you around the city, including the handicraft market and the National Theater.)
  We will take you to Juan Santamaría International Airport by private car. (Approximately 40 minutes).
  Transfer to a North American city.
  This is where we say goodbye to the local guide.
