Very enjoyable trip

Good points. They flexibly accommodated schedule changes and even attended to us outside of hours when going out at night.
There were no particularly bad points, but what caught my attention was that lunch and dinner in Balikpapan had exactly the same menu.

The guides in each area were friendly, making the trip very enjoyable. The hotel and meals were also good.
Among many demanding people, I was truly grateful for the flexible response to the schedule changes on the day.

What kind of country is Indonesia?

Indonesia is composed of over ten thousand islands stretching north and south across the equator.

Cash, cards and currency exchange
・You can exchange currency for Indonesian Rupiah at local airports, banks, exchange offices in the city, and hotels.
・The exchange rate is better in Indonesia than in Japan, so it is recommended to exchange currency locally.
・Many stores accept credit cards, but they are often not accepted at small shops or taxis, so be sure to carry cash.
Tips
・Some restaurants and hotels include a service charge in the bill. In such cases, tipping is generally not necessary.
・Hotel: Depending on the establishment's rank, around 5-10%
・Hotel: About Rp.20,000 for porters
・Spa: About Rp.20,000 for the attendant
・Taxi: It is customary not to ask for small change as change
Public Safety
・Indonesia is not a particularly unsafe country.
Compared to Japan, there are slightly more cases of getting involved in crime, so please be cautious of pickpocketing and theft, and be careful of drug incidents when walking alone at night or in bars and nightclubs.
Clothing
Due to the minimal temperature fluctuations throughout the year, you can wear summer clothes.
Don't forget rain gear, sun protection, and insect repellent.
Please refrain from wearing revealing clothing in temples.

Visa availability and arrangements
It is necessary to obtain a visa that matches your travel purpose.
If your purpose of entry is tourism, government-related business, or commercial activities, you need to obtain a Visa on Arrival (VOA) at the airport upon arrival in Indonesia.
From November 9, 2022, the operation of the online arrival visa (e-VOA), which can be obtained online before entry, has also started.
