The charm and support that group tours don't offer

My mother, who loved going on overseas group tours with major travel companies, turned 88 and found group activities difficult, so we used this service for the first time.
It was my first time planning a private trip with my family, and I had never heard of this site before, so I was honestly anxious. However, I felt it was the perfect service for what we needed in many ways, so I decided to consult them.
I booked the flight tickets and hotel separately, but I entrusted them with everything else, including meals.

At first, the local travel agency they introduced didn't seem to listen to our requests carefully and presented a plan, so I was worried. However, after detailed discussions, they adjusted it to meet our needs. Their response was surprisingly quick, and decisions were made very fast. The price, which I was concerned about, was reasonable and reassuring.

During the trip, especially at the initial airport meeting, being able to communicate with the guide via the familiar LINE app was very convenient and made things easier.
With this travel company, it seems the guide is assigned daily, and even when I asked locally, they said, 'We'll be together tomorrow, but the day after is uncertain.' However, in the end, I had the same guide from start to finish, which was great.

The guide, to be honest, was not fluent in Japanese, and there were times when conversations didn't align or I couldn't catch what they were explaining despite their efforts. However, they were very kind and considerate of my elderly mother, who had difficulty walking.

It was interesting to be taken to a popular local eatery with long lines, a place group tours would never go. My mother, unfamiliar with such places, was a bit bewildered, but my husband loved it. I also preferred it to endless set menus that I couldn't finish. The tea time experiences, like Vietnamese sweet soup or unique egg coffee, which I wouldn't have thought of without their suggestions, became wonderful memories.

Everything went smoothly, and I discovered the charm that group tours lack, so I would definitely like to use this service again if I have the chance.

Peace of mind is the most important thing

I am very satisfied with my first self-planned overseas trip, as I was able to handle everything from choosing the location to organizing the schedule.
The Japanese-speaking guide was also a very nice person, so I was able to travel with peace of mind!
It turned out to be a very enjoyable overseas trip.

Fulfilling wishes

I think they fully met my vacation period and travel requests within the limited time.
Some people might be worried that the guide changes every day and the next day's pickup time is confirmed the evening before. The hotel they arranged was in a very convenient location, perfect for solo travel. Thanks to that, I could use my free time outside the tour effectively and at my own pace. I wasn't forced to go to souvenir shops, and I could enjoy negotiating prices at local markets and fully enjoyed my trip.

They were very good. They offered a plan just as I had hoped.

They contacted me politely in advance. It was a reassuring experience.

My name is Trong, and I am from Hanoi, Vietnam.
As a child, I became interested in Japanese anime and sumo wrestling, and I began studying Japanese seriously during my university years.
After that, I moved to Japan and lived there for four years, working at a major automobile company.
In 2007, I returned to my hometown of Hanoi, Vietnam, where I worked as an interpreter and translator for a Japanese company,
and I have been guiding Japanese tours at both Vietnamese and Japanese travel agencies.
Later, with a growing desire for many Japanese people to come and enjoy traveling in Vietnam, I established a travel company in June 2018.
Having lived in Japan, I grew to love Japanese culture and people even more, so I am dedicated to helping Japanese travelers every day.
I am grateful for this wonderful connection.
Please feel free to contact me.

Cash, cards and currency exchange
When exchanging money, it is generally recommended to do so locally in Vietnam as the rates are significantly better than in Japan.
・For local currency exchange, options include airports, city banks, exchange offices, hotels, jewelry stores, and using credit cards at ATMs.
・In urban areas of Vietnam, credit cards are generally accepted, but in rural areas, some shops only accept cash. Therefore, when traveling, it might be wise to prepare 600,000 Vietnamese Dong (approximately 3500 yen) per person per day.
Tips
・Vietnam generally does not have a tipping culture. However, there may be situations where you want to tip out of gratitude or where tipping is requested.
・Hotel: Approximately 20,000 VND for porters
・Restaurant: Tipping is generally not necessary, but if you receive special service, about 50,000 VND is appropriate.
・Tour Guide: About 50,000 VND to 100,000 VND for the guide at the end of the tour
Public Safety
・Vietnam is a relatively safe country compared to other international destinations.
・Be cautious of petty crimes such as snatching, pickpocketing, and scams, as well as traffic accidents when crossing roads.
Clothing
・You can generally consider wearing summer clothing.
・It can get chilly in the mornings and evenings depending on the season, so it's reassuring to have a light jacket. It's also essential to prepare for the cold due to excessive air conditioning indoors.
Things you should bring with you
・Stomach medicine, cold medicine, mobile battery, tissues, wet tissues, insect repellent items, sun protection items, etc.
Visa availability and arrangements
・Japanese nationals do not need a visa for stays of 15 to 45 days for tourism, business, diplomatic, or official purposes.
・For stays exceeding 45 days, a regular visa must be applied for and obtained at the Vietnamese Embassy or Consulate in Japan.
・The online visa (e-Visa) is valid for 90 days, and you must apply and obtain it online before traveling to Vietnam. Present the e-Visa upon arrival at designated airports or border points.
Required vaccinations
・There are no mandatory requirements for travel.
・For the prevention of common infectious diseases, vaccinations for hepatitis A, hepatitis B, tetanus, rabies, and Japanese encephalitis are recommended.
