I visited the Amber Fort, a World Heritage site located in the suburbs of Jaipur, India, and I would like to share the local atmosphere with you!
While the palace itself is a highlight, it is also a very interesting spot where, depending on the time of day, you can ride an elephant to the palace on the hill.
Ride an elephant to the World Heritage palace!
The Amber Fort was located in the suburbs, a short drive from Jaipur.
The palace itself is built on a hill, and we drove to the base of the hill, from where we moved by riding an elephant!
As you can see from the video, the elephants walk very slowly.
The weather was nice that day, and riding an elephant slowly under the blue sky felt incredibly elegant. I wonder if the kings of the time felt the same way.
By the way, elephant rides are available until 11 a.m. There used to be no such restrictions, but they were implemented considering the elephants' well-being.
It is said that if elephants are overworked, they become irritable, so each elephant can only make three round trips to the top of the hill per day.
Such changes also reflect India's development.
Therefore, if you are interested in Amber Fort, I recommend visiting early in the morning.
Now, when you reach the top of the hill, the Amber Fort comes into view.
The palace is situated at a slightly elevated location, allowing the breeze to pass through, making it a very comfortable environment.
This palace took 150 years to complete during the 16th to 17th centuries, and its interior structures are very unique and delicate.
It was a palace that offered a glimpse into the splendor of the Maharajas of the time.
The interior of the palace is quite spacious, and the corridors are intricate, so even with a brief explanation, it took about an hour to tour. If you want to see it thoroughly, it might be better to spend about two hours.
There are many highlights, so I thought having a guide would deepen your understanding and enhance your sightseeing experience more than touring the palace on your own.
