The allure that can't be realized with a tour

Booking a tour can be expensive
There was the disadvantage of limited flexibility.
However, by asking Oooh,
we were able to have a trip that fulfilled our desires
and also kept the costs significantly down.

Cash, cards and currency exchange
・It's advisable to exchange currency locally. You can also exchange it in Japan beforehand, but the rates are not favorable.
・Credit cards can be used in most places, and it's generally not the case that VISA and MasterCard are unusable. More small shops and stalls are accepting them.
・It is recommended to primarily use credit cards and carry a small amount of cash for emergencies, combining cash and card usage.
Tips
・Tipping is not very customary.
・In Switzerland, service charges are often included, so tipping is generally not necessary. As an exception, if you receive special services like carrying large luggage, giving 2-3 francs is appreciated.
Public Safety
・Switzerland is a relatively safe country in Europe. However, compared to Japan, petty crimes like pickpocketing and theft are more frequent, so caution is necessary.
・Be cautious in tourist-heavy urban areas, airports, stations, trains, and restaurants, as pickpocketing and theft occur frequently. To avoid becoming a victim, do not carry large amounts of cash, travel with minimal luggage, and avoid walking alone at night. Implement thorough security measures.
Clothing
・Switzerland's climate varies by region, so it's appropriate to wear clothing that can adapt to temperature changes.
・Due to significant altitude and temperature differences within a day, it's necessary to prepare clothing that is easy to put on and take off for adjustment. For example, wear a long-sleeved shirt or top as a base layer, with a cardigan or light sweater, fleece, etc., on top. In high-altitude areas, adding an outer layer to block the wind is advisable.

Visa availability and arrangements
・For Japanese nationals visiting for tourism, business, diplomatic, or official purposes, a visa is not required for stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period. However, a passport issued within the last 10 years and valid for at least 3 months beyond the departure from Schengen countries, along with a return ticket, are required, so please verify in advance.
Required vaccinations
