Here is an introduction to the camping experience I visited, seeking something a little different.
I believe this is a facility equivalent to 'glamping' in Japan, where you can easily and safely experience a side of India that you can't enjoy with hotel stays!
Camping experience in India!?
This accommodation is located in the Jaisalmer area of Rajasthan, in northwestern India.
This area is largely covered by desert and has many yellow buildings, earning it the nickname 'Golden City' due to its scenery.
The facility I stayed at this time was Elet Dunes Resort.
The reason I visited this facility was that a local coordinator told me, 'You can camp in the desert,' so I decided to visit the recommended Elet Dunes Resort.
Since it was called a desert, I naturally expected something like 'a tent in a completely barren desert,' but in reality, there was a lot of vegetation, so my first impression was, 'This might be a little different from what I expected..'.
According to the guide later, it is prohibited by the government to build accommodations in the middle of the desert, so desert camps are usually built in places close to the desert.
Because if tourists stay in the desert, it gets dirty with littering...
That makes sense.
The hotel's facilities are quite clean, but the hardware itself is neither good nor bad.
As expected in the desert, hot water was available only from 7 to 10 in the morning, and electricity was only available after the evening.
Dinner was also a curry buffet, which was fairly ordinary.
But actually, It was awesome!

I went to the desert in India.
Indian Folk Dance Performance
Around 7 in the evening, I thought it was time for dinner, but there was an event to see folk dances of the Sam Desert, so we gathered at the stage on the premises at this time.
When you gather at the stage, they serve snacks and drinks.
It's quite enjoyable to drink outside while watching performances of folk music (played with an instrument called khartal) and folk dances.
As it got to around 9 o'clock, I thought it was quite long, and then there was a dance competition where the audience could also participate!!
Everyone was pulled in by the dancers and danced enthusiastically to the lively Indian dance music, haha.
In the end, this feast continued until about 10 o'clock..
Indians really like to dance..
Dinner was a buffet style with Indian curry as the main dish. It was a typical curry, neither good nor bad.
After dinner, we were taken back to the desert to see the starry sky, and ended up going to bed after 1 AM.
It was a packed and tiring day, but it was an experience that made me think camping in India is a good option.
By the way, the chai I asked the staff to serve early in the morning was delicious. (Honestly, the chai I drank during my stay in India was ginger-infused and delicious everywhere.)
When I spoke to the staff, they were flexible and would serve chai at any time (as long as they were awake, lol).
summary
Personally, I highly recommend glamping as it's very enjoyable, but I think one night is enough.
The facilities are relatively clean and comfortable, but you can only use a hot shower early in the morning, the water pressure is weak, electricity is time-restricted, and the temperature difference in the desert is quite significant, so this environment can be quite tiring, and multiple nights might be physically demanding.
If you're visiting the desert area, the ideal plan is to spend one night glamping and the next day stay at a luxury facility like a palace hotel!
The palace hotel the day after glamping is incredibly exciting, lol.
Camping experiences abroad aren't something you can do often, so if you want to try different kinds of trips, please consider this type of stay!
