India, a place I had wanted to visit for years but never could.
I was hesitant to travel around India on my own, but I also didn't want to visit unnecessary places. While searching for a way to explore India safely and in our own style, I came across Oooh.
Even though it was a very selfish plan, you managed to organize it well, and I was able to stay at a wonderful hotel. At one point, I became anxious and made an inquiry, but at that time, Mr. Okura (Oooh Concierge) kindly explained everything and eased my worries. I am truly grateful.
The guide and the driver were also delightful people. Both of them were very kind.
The next time I visit India, I would like to travel around with them again.
I still can't forget how delicious the chai I drank at midnight was. ♥️
I would definitely like to request your services again next time.

Wonderful trip to India

We requested to incorporate it into our individual group trip meeting locally.
We requested changes to the schedule and number of people several times, and they responded promptly.
The local guide also adapted flexibly to our needs, making it a very enjoyable trip.

The guide driver was considerate of our fatigue.

I wasn't feeling well due to a chronic illness, so I should have gone when I was healthier.
Japanese people are not very familiar with religion, so I should have researched beforehand about Buddhism and other religions and their significance.
I wondered after returning whether Shakyamuni and Buddha mean the same thing or if they are different.
I thought the curry I bought as a souvenir was in powder form, but it was confiscated.

The trip to India became the best memory of my life!

Although there was a sudden issue with the tour plan and it had to be changed, they handled it smoothly, and we had a trip that exceeded the plan, creating the best memories.

The result was good

I was worried because there were so many fake sites, but the result was good. I think it would be good to make it clear that it is not a fake site.

The response was better than expected.
One point that could be improved is that it would be appreciated if the vehicle for long-distance land travel were larger.
Choosing a five-star hotel this time was based on understanding the circumstances in India, but the continuous local cuisine was a bit tough for seniors.

I was grateful that all the itineraries were arranged for me.

Including the guide, I was very well taken care of and was able to have a safe trip.
However, the English guide in Hyderabad did not understand the situation, got the hotel wrong, and there was no explanation about dinner. In this case, since it was already night, I feel that just a driver to take us from the airport to the hotel would have been sufficient. As for the meals, it might be unavoidable in India, but the same kind of menu (thali) continued for both lunch and dinner, and it might have been better if there was a bit more variety. It might be difficult, though.

It was very good that they responded smoothly even at the last minute in chat format.

I thought it was good that the staff were fluent in Japanese and chose clean shops that were considerate of Japanese people.
The local guide's obsession with money was obvious, and it was clear that they would get a kickback if we spent money at the recommended shops, which was not very pleasant.
Other than that, they were very attentive and supportive throughout the day, and negotiations with the locals were very helpful, leaving no complaints.

Cash, cards and currency exchange
In India, many shops do not have change for large bills, so make sure to carry plenty of small bills.
Currency exchange is available at banks, airports, city exchange offices, and mid-range (4-star) or higher hotels.
In major cities like Delhi and Mumbai, Japanese yen can be exchanged, but in rural or smaller cities, it might not be possible or the rates may be poor, so it's better to carry US dollars.
Tips
Hotel (for carrying luggage or ordering room service): Rs30 at mid-range hotels, Rs40-50 at luxury hotels
Restaurant: If service charge is included, tipping is not necessary, but if not, tip around 7-10%. At local restaurants, leaving small change as a tip is sufficient.
Public Safety
While not particularly dangerous, be cautious of pickpockets and snatchers in crowded areas like airports and stations.
There are many beggars, so try not to engage with them.
Clothing
In temples, women should avoid sleeveless tops and men should avoid shorts.
